Jacqueline Irish

Biography
Jacqueline A. Irish is the owner, writer and recipe developer for a clean, grain- and gluten-free recipe food blog and local home-based keto bakery with the same name, Ketolicious Eats. Her passion lies in education and health coaching, helping individuals discover new ways to integrate living and eating clean with the ketogenic and paleo lifestyles, with the larger goal of reducing inflammation and improving immune health to prevent disease. Her followers often include those with existing chronic inflammatory conditions and those seeking to take a larger role in his/her health.

Her diagnosis of an early stage, yet more aggressive type of breast cancer in 2017 became a huge pivot point in her life. After having left a marketing communications career to pursue a second degree in commercial interior design, she soon learned she would have to drop out of school to help finance her family’s challenges with infertility. This five-year struggle eventually led to feeling stuck in what seemed like a yearly path of failure, with multiple failed infant adoptions, IVF treatments, and a halt to her and her husband becoming foster parents when they learned of the cancer news. Cancer development then became a mission to uncover how disease could develop in a seemingly young, healthy body. Her findings opened her eyes to the problem of inflammation, coming in the form of toxins in all directions—the environment, food, cookware, body care and cleaning products, and even how mismanagement of stress, early trauma, and anxiety may play a role.

Irish has always had an interest in health care, whether in institutional interior design; seminars on the physiological impact the built and color environment has on the body (2008); and in her work as a write/designer for national health and wellness company American Specialty Health (1999 to 2010).

She has a Bachelor’s in communications from San Diego State University, with a minor in marketing.

In her free time, Irish enjoys spending time with her husband Mark and their two dogs, Sadie and Nolan. She also enjoys being in the outdoors, hiking and biking, as well as cooking, baking, reading, writing, traveling, and participating in activities with her church.
